Errors

Errors use OpenAI's shape: {"error":{"message","type","param","code"}}.

Status	Code	Meaning
400	invalid_audio, audio_too_long, invalid_upload	The file could not be read or is over a limit.
400	unsupported_format	Not an audio or video file we accept, or an audio codec we do not decode.
401	invalid_api_key	Missing, wrong or revoked key.
413	invalid_upload	Over 100 MB. Send compressed audio (MP3, M4A, Opus) instead; see limits.
429	insufficient_quota	Out of minutes. Buy minutes, turn on automatic top-up on your account page, or upgrade. Checked before the upload is read.
429	key_limit_reached	This key's own monthly limit is used up. Raise or remove it on your account page.
429	concurrency_limit, rate_limit_exceeded	Too many requests at once. Retry after the Retry-After header.
503	server_busy	Busy, holding too much audio at once, or briefly paused for maintenance. Retry after Retry-After.
500	transcription_failed	Something failed on our side. You are not charged.
